They shut down that whole area for 2.5 hours for that scene.

There are at least a dozen people in each photo. And the photos themselves are not wideangle, you can only see a narrow angle, unlike in the submission. How is this "virtually empty"?

I'm pretty sure he's lying. There's no way for most of these places to clear completely. It's like seeing Times Square empty. I'm 99% sure it's a composite from multiple exposures.

I think you should demo it to all of us, not just me. One person's opinion shouldn't affect your project, since I can be very wrong.

I doubt you will be able to create anything significantly better than BTC and altcoins. If your solution is not decentralized, you can stop right now.

You actually can pay employees in BTC, if they prefer that. Thousands of people work for BTC already. Utility companies will start accepting bitcoins soon enough, as it becomes more popular. Taxes are a bit harder, I admit.

Yeah, we're gonna stop what we're doing, and make a montage just because you have a slow internet connection.

It's completely useless to me. All the important content discovery features are gone. The search is horrible, all the nice filtering options YT has aren't there.

That's the most impressive thing I've read on HN in a long time. It shows how far the technologies have come. Truly a remarkable achievement.

It's very sad to see a spam blog submission like this on HN. Create a page with a short description of a 3 year old video, embed the video, welcome to the front page. Please flag this crap.

> Why bother swiping to steal when you can run a smartphone app and take all of the cards on all of the coins in range? Because it doesn't broadcast credit card data over Bluetooth.

Glacier is cheaper for small backups that you almost never touch.

They are very different. Glacier takes hours just to get the listing of files, or start the file download. Their pricing is very different. Crashplan charges per computer. Glacier charges per GB of storage and per GB of transfer out.

Are there any securities, like stocks or mutual funds, tied to the price of BTC?

This is so retarded. Also shows how hard it is to predict what's profitable.

Typhoon Haiyan is much bigger and much stronger. The wind was reported at 195 mph with 235 mph gusts. This kind of wind destroys everything on its way, peels asphalt off the roads, removes soil, etc. Phailin maxed out at 160 mph. That'

"I've never seen" is a bad metric. I've never seen a deadly car accident, but there are like 30 thousand car accident deaths per year in the US alone.

Cyclists will die no matter what. No helmet will save you if you get hit hard enough. The difference with this airbag is, your airbag is not aware of anything that's flying towards your head, like a truck hitting you on the side. It on

Because helmets pass certifications. Because helmets are always "deployed". I know for a fact that even a shitty helmet is better than no helmet. Let alone a 400 euro helmet.

And what's the point of that? Videos are generally low resolution, compared to photos. We're talking order of magnitude difference - 2 megapixels vs 36 megapixels.

Is the offer that good? If you do sell it now, do you have other startup ideas worth working on? (I assume this was your best one). Is there any vesting involved, or is it a cash deal?
