I have some hope in Solid ( https://solidproject.org/ ), if only because Tim Berners-Lee is spearheading the project and Bruce Schneier leading the security/crypto side of it.

1. Rewrite everything in Go or Rust for the sake of it. 2. Pretend AWS and DNS do not exist and that the web is decentralized. 3. Read blockchain. Lots of it. Write about it more than you read about it. 4. Success. Let the big bucks rain on

That they are even allowed in the first place is startling and puts into question what schools are even for. Clearly those who draft policies where phones are allowed have no interest in your education.

Indeed. These pseudo-authoritative blogs on Github from people who have no idea what they're talking about could also stop.

Use Paypal or whatever as a proxy and cancel them there, or ask your bank to not honor the debits. Then they can call you if they are interested. But indeed, this shit should be illegal practice.

The US government is also harmful outside of the US. Your comments here and above seem to have a tone of "US good, China bad". To be clear, this and the general issue of regulating American online spaces isn't about good vs e

I tried Julia and I had to wait several seconds for my program to start due to JIT even for very trivial applications. Did I do anything wrong? Seemed like the worst of both worlds. Python runs slow but at least it starts fast.

What are you talking about? The fact that there are two Settings panels ('Settings' and 'Control Panel') is already sub-optimal for UI/UX. Not to mention that half the windows on Control Panel are not resizable and

Sounds like the game of ambiguity. They 'crack down' on the malware while simultaneously hurting Blockada and the other legitimate software/services that protect you from Google's own surveillance. Google wins, everybody

What a bizarre way to justify surveillance. Who said the web browser can't be sold instead? The browser and the search engine should not be developed by the same company, there are clear conflicts of interest there, but we all know why

I was going to give CMUSphinx / PocketSphinx a try, based on maturity and requirements. If anyone has used it in the past or can suggest other options that will be appreciated.
