I personally use an app called Everything[1] since I moved to win10. Win10's search indexing seems to be trash and its tendency to prioritize web results over desktop results is infuriating. Everything is good for finding something tuc

I'm no economist, but injecting that much money that fast into an economy opens a whole new can of worms with inflation and currency devaluation right?

/r/FloridaMan is a pretty accurate depiction of how we view Florida. That and Disney World.

No need for overly simplistic and naive rhetoric - people won't spend that kind of money on a car that won't prioritize the occupants. In the end, car companies are in the business of making money. It would be a disservice to all

This is quite a useless article IMO. No-one drives selflessly and suicidaly altruistic anyway. The article's author is shaming and criticizing Mercedes for making this design decision, while ignoring all the practical aspects of the te

I don't think that Google's monopoly on the android setup is unwarranted. They both developed the OS software and host an app store where they decide what gets sold in this store - the same way that Apple does or Microsoft does on

I'm not sure what the laws are in NZ, but can a non-citizen vote in a NZ election? If noone checks for any sort if ID, how do they ensure that there isn't any fraud? In a democracy, I'm honestly not convinced that 'its n

I'm not super familiar with code signing, but if alternatives are expensive, could OP maintain a checksum value on their download page rather than go with DigiCert or alternative services? Or does code-signing solve a different problem

I don't think this solution makes sense. I agree that , from an ethical standpoint, there should to be better protections for H1B holders. But giving everyone free reign to change jobs is also ripe for abusing the system and possibly f

I think the idea is that the H1B isnt a general 'work visa', it is given because there is a position at a company for a worker with a specific skillset. So it makes sense in that framework. I'm not arguing that this is the ri

TL;DR: The student was denied an H1B for a QA Tester role, which requires a BS in a computer-related field. The argument was that this qualifies as a specialty occupation. The judge rightfully told her to pound sand. @privateSFacct has a go

In the spirit of blockchain and decentralization, I think you're right. But practically, explaining that to the authorities will probably not be a pleasant experience if they manage to find cp or other illegal data on your hard drive.
