As far as I remember it was a filesystem limit not couchdb limit. It was a problem that file always grow and couchdb crashed when limit exceeded. Can't find particular issue, but googling show some issues [1] that make me think that we

Is it any documents that describes secure couchdb architecture? Most of the articles I find are limited to authentication and basic permissions.

Thank you for pointing at validation, I'll check it. It's not completely clear what is it possible to limit not only particular document but database, or how to handle conflict if document changed on pouch, but rejected on couchdb

If I use backend I can create all validation logic in application server. But in this case no automatic synchronisation. One of the major selling point of couchdb is replication protocol for client-server data syncing. When you design produ

This server can't prevent authenticated user from uploading huge document of running expensive query.

Custom backend means no synchronisation and no advantages over postgres. Do you propose to create proxy that parses query and estimates complexity? I think this task at least as hard as implementing couchdb myself (actually harder) Is there

CouchDB/PouchDB looks very promising for offline first apps, but I can’t understand how to restrict bad clients. Client potentially could insert document of huge size or execute expensive query and degrade experience of other clients o

More or less same arguments as for choosing React Native for any other project: share some or all code on web/android/ios platforms. The other option could be compiling libgit2 to native code/wasm and use it in RN and web, bu

I tried to run it in RN year ago with no luck, filled an issue [1]. Looks like they removed Buffer dependency in 1.0 which was one of the problems. [1] https://github.com/isomorphic-git/isomorphic-git/issues/6

VMs and containers have pros and cons. Not sure what do you mean by freedom. If I need secure isolation or non-linux guest I would choose VM, but now I use containers mostly because lightness, speed, registry and snapshots.

I do not use Immer and Immutable together. I use Immutable mostly as I want to have custom types. I think I'll use Immer most of the time after implementing api like [1] [1] https://github.com/mweststrate/immer

Main issue with immer is a lack of custom types support (like Record in immutable.js)

Few questions: Status of this project. Can I use it for production? What are the differences from other starter kits like Este, which also could be used for building react-native and react apps.

Thank you for technical details! Why do you use braintree but not use namecheap for everything? Avoiding lock-in or some technical reasons?
