It may take only 20 min to charge to 80% but in practice you might have to wait until a charger becomes available or drive around to find one that's available.

I think teaching beginner linear algebra using matrices representing systems of equations is a pedagogical mistake. It gives the wrong impression that matrices are linear algebra and makes it difficult for students to think about it in an a

I got introduced to microcontrollers through the original Arduino board. It took me only a year to switch to bare metal atmega/attiny (zero external components!), and to this day, those are my favourite micros despite all their shortco

You are mistaken. The US doesn’t exist for the sake of Americans. It exist for corporations and corporations only.

This makes me wonder, are we in a fancy simulation with an elaborate sampling mechanism? Not that the answer would matter…

It’s pretty wild how people lump the collective West and the US together. Maybe that worked in the past, but the US as it is today is definitely not how one would imagine a western country.

I object your reference to the collective west. As a Canadian, i believe my country has very little in common with the US. In fact, the US is pretty similar to China when it comes to propaganda.

Iran has a longer history, obviously, but it’s worth mentioning the US is no longer a democratic country. The congress has effectively delegated its powers to the president. You can’t really come back from that any time soon.

They seem to be highly pragmatic. Rather than chasing AGI, they are more interested in what can be done with today's technology. Any breakthrough towards AGI will inevitably leak quickly, so they'll be able to catch up as long as

As you noted, it’s about what’s important to us. The physical function may or may not be sparse, but our brain model is guaranteed to be sparse. A note played on a violin is anything but a sine function, yet our brains associate it with a s

Even if you could create such a law, at this point in time, no law can protect americans agains persecution by government-affiliated groups who are immune from court scrutiny thanks to their protections at the very top. You would first have

I don’t think this is going to happen in Canada. It’s much easier for us to simply put tariffs on Tesla vehicles to further reduce their market share.

Ultimately, American companies will be pushed out of the EU market. It’s not going to happen overnight, but the outcome is unavoidable in light of the ongoing system collapse in the US.

I don’t think such articles are responsible for the drop. As a Canadian, i wouldn’t visit the US even if i though i was perfectly safe there. I simply don’t wish to contribute even a single dollar towards our enemy.

This approach seems overly mechanistic to me. You can have an election, and yet the results of said election can be completely predetermined like they have been in russia for the past 20 years or so. The US toyed with gerrymandering and dis

By your logic, in the grand scheme of thing, it’s ok to deport elcritch and then say “elcritch’s” case was different and provide it with national and international attention and legal help. Full disclosure, i’m not arguing in good faith. As

Any difference is going to disappear in only a few years. What matters is the direction the US taking. This happened to Russia about 14 years ago, and it’s happening to the US now.

I think they wanted to hear that it’s ok to invade other countries. Despite China being very pragmatic in all matters, China’s view on Taiwan is highly irrational. They want to have it because… well, just because. At the same time they mana

That makes perfect sense. It puzzles me why supporters of the current US regime think Canada won’t resist the US. Be it a trade war or a military invasion, Canada will make the cost so great that it may eliminate the US from the world arena
