"spend about a week trying to understand your customers needs and figuring out how to better serve them" Effective blogging is one of the ways to do this. The point is not about blogging just for the sake of bloggin. Point is about spreadin

I switched from iPhone to HTC radar windows 7.5 and love it. It has its own app store though which may not have every app that iPhone has but I personally don't care.

I have worked on trading floor most of my corporate life so far. I am so used to loud noise, paper planes, ball throwing, swearing etc. that I forget sometimes that loud noise is actually a hinderance at work. People like us consider it a p

Performance appraisal at large corporations definitely suck. Reasons are many. But the point that managers or companies miss is the fact that performance cannot/should not just be appraised at the end of the year by collecting feedback. It

A developer can definitely produce software independently. I do that as well. But the question is about selling that software to the business users. This is where a good BA/PM comes in again. I have said before that in small setup such as s

You took it literally when i said "go home". Fine I will refine it for you. Go home as in go build the next product.

"Seen any freelancing PMs or BA?" Seen many.If you understand business domains, have experience dealing with lines of business, managers, executives, you can freelance. Not everyone needs to (or should) write code.

after almost 50 comments, I say let the developers, BAs,PM, QAs all win. After all, we all want to get the project out of the door, make some money on the way and go home.

"I know they get paid better for doing what i Don't want to do" You summed it up well. BA/PMs do the dirty work that developers can be shielded from. Dealing with people is always a dirty work but extremely difficult to master. A good BA/PM

I used to be a programmer who transitioned into BA/PM role lately. I see and understand the pains of both sides. Sometimes, I want to switch into the technical/programmer mode where I want to solve/code the thing myself. The point is that t

"a good developer should be able to take on all three roles" I generally would agree with you but it is not that simple. A good BA or PM can do lot of dirty work that the programmers can be shielded from in order to focus on their core valu

Agreed with multiple versions of Resume. I have always believed that what you know does not matter. What you can offer the prospective employer that they are looking for, matters. Big difference.

"But you would say anyway that it would do more harm then good?" Not at all. It may not do any harm but it may not do you any good necesarily. Usually, recruiter/managers scan only for 2-3 seconds unless they find specifics that they like.Y
