A major cause is just the nature of a big VC round, too. In my experience (and I think generally?), the funding comes with aggressive growth targets - you're expected to grow far faster after getting all the money injected than before.

I'd think more in the range of ~10 MBA hires. Middle management definitely grew a lot, but most were not MBAs. Lots of new positions were created that didn't really need to exist. In more "lean startup mode", if you have

I’ve never been a founder or a VC, so I don’t really know, but happy to speculate :) I’d imagine it depends on the company, and “how are you going to spend the money” is something you’d discuss with VCs before the investment goes through. I

Yeah, the results are absolute SEO garbage far too frequently. However, I'm not sure if this is Google "losing" to SEO ppl, or short-sighted greedy behaviour by Google ads ppl. It certainly could be the greedy case - SEO garb

JS maps already have a well defined way that they do key equality: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Refe... It's basically just strict equality (===), except NaN === NaN is fa

Yeah, but the Java 8 date/time API has been around for ~7-8 years, and is basically universally loved, while the original java.util.Date was hated for ages. Plus Java 8 date/time is based extremely strongly on joda-time, which hit

Nice, it looks to be quite similar to the Java 8 date/time APIs (java.time.*), which are excellent. Looking forward to this!

Personally I’d have this return a map instead of an object, so that the keys aren’t forced to be strings. Otherwise seems like a reasonable API, very similar to groupBy in any other moderately functional language, except with the “keys must

Yeah, that might be a better description. Atheist and agnostic are both somewhat loose terms with a lot of overlap.

Atheist-ish - no spiritual practice of any kind. In terms of beliefs, I think there’s a tonne of massive, unanswered questions about the universe, and it’s certainly possible that there are forces out there that resemble spiritual concepts.

FWIW, I always write tests for my changes, as long as they have any impact on behaviour (i.e. not writing tests for adding a little logging or metrics, but am for any new or modified business logic). Every single dev having a strong commitm

Oh yeah, I definitely use 4 frequently too - for basically any bug ticket, or for any more complex change/new feature, I want to run the full app. Having this be fast/easy/reliable is huge. If it’s a service oriented app, and

I’m with you, but if you’re maintaining a massively popular open source library, where backwards compatibility is expected, you’re not going to remove features without careful consideration. For an important bug fix, it probably does make m

There are tonnes of reasonably priced PHEVs from other manufacturers, that are IMO great choices for people who simply want reliable, flexible cars that use very little gas. For example the PHEV versions of the Toyota RAV4, Kia Niro, Hyunda

I used to think the same before I got a car with trinkets. Heated/cooled seats (and heated starting wheel) are very nice on cold/hot days. Safety features like auto-braking and blind spot warnings actually do make you safer. Apple

IMO “FUD” about Tether will never end, because it’s a fairly clear scam. The fear/uncertainty/doubt around it is not due to an easily remedied lack of transparency, the lack of transparency is just an attempt to disguise the scam.
