Any shot may cause a fatal wound. And aiming anywhere other than the centre of mass increases the likelihood of missing. Shoot-to-kill makes sense given these facts. I'm from the UK so I absolutely don't think the police should be

But this isn't access to the single greatest invention humanity has ever come up with. It's a brand that takes its name and applies it to a surveillance monopoly. It's internet.org that's denying people access to the Int

They are not providing the Internet to people who do not have the Internet. They are providing a couple of websites in a walled garden. They are not giving people a useful service that they did not have before, they are giving people a deli

Microsoft is on record as hating the GPL. If that's changed it's not showing in their careful use of the (very fine) Apache license rather than the GPL.

I don't see how it's better. You can send objects over pipes if you want to (in, for example, json format). If PowerShell wants to be the bloated Word-equivalent of shells that's certainly a design objective. I'm sure so

Principle without action tends to narcissism though. If people believe that Software Should Not Have Owners, they should use the GPL.

It's not a cargo cult thing, it's inherited wisdom borne out by painful experience. Like goto and braceless single-expression blocks they are so easy to misuse that they can easily be much more trouble than they're worth. Sim
