Seems rather pointless. I mean, you're not sending them crypto, you're sending crypto to BlockPay and hoping they collect it. That being said, 85% of conversations about NFTs are non-consensual, so you may very well find a market

Are they, now? If a politician needs $X,XXX,XXX in bribes to even get out of bed, does that make him better or worse at making decisions than the average man on the street?

If people can't tell truth from lies, why even bother having elections? You mention Brexit. If it was a foregone conclusion that people weren't sharp enough to vote either way, why not just ask Queen Elizabeth whether they should

A $5 monthly donation will in 12 months' time turn into $60, so it's not a great mystery why they want the recurring income. In addition, it's more stable. If you just get money once in a while, planning is harder. If you hav

I responded to this by e-mail, but I'll put it here as well: > The central criticism of ENS in this blog post - that the multisig (in the past) or the DAO (now) could take away your .ETH name - is not true. No one has the ability to

Grant that the obsession people have with citing everything - even basic stuff that everyone knows, like old poetry - is quite absurd. Just put it in italics or quotation marks or something. Either people are smart enough to figure it out,

Yeah, there exist a few like that for WordPress, I know a few big sites use them. I think Simply Static < https://wordpress.org/plugins/simply-static/ > is pretty popular?

Money is not "literally worthless"; the state guarantees that you can use them to pay your debts, by cancelling all debts that you pay using dollars, whether your creditor agrees to it or not.

For example, by raising the new registration price to $1,000,000,000. Then, the DAO can register it at zero cost (it will get 100% of the fee refunded instantly), but anybody else would have to pay sticker price. I believe there's also

That's ... not true? Children can learn a basic model of the greenhouse effect in school, and do so in most civilized nations. Whether this is sufficient is another thing entirely, but I would personally contend that (non-propaganda) e

Yes, but that doesn't work if what you're voting on is consensus-critical (e.g. the ordering of blocks). If you're talking about other rule changes, sure. In practice, I think most would consider Bitcoin's sluggishness o

Proof of stake has a very specific definition. In Bitcoin, it's possible for a client to bootstrap with only knowledge of protocol rules. This is not possible in a proof of stake cryptocurrency, which also requires a trusted third part

Is that always true, or just in some cases? For example, a website hosting child pornography I think would be quite detrimental to the value of the project. Would the ENS holders seek to maximize their economic value, or "property righ

Yes (actually, it would only have to be a soft fork), but that would require serious coordination. Ethereum has done it before, so it's not literally impossible, but it would require the whole of the Ethereum network to do it, not just

Why does this need a DAO? Why does someone have to "own" it? They could just have it be run by the smart contract without human intervention.

For enough money, they might. If I'm not mistaken, the "community treasury" has 50% of all ENS. This comes to 0.5 * 100MM = 50MM ENS. At current exchange rates (assuming no slippage), that comes to $17.92 * 50,000,000 = $896,
