The whole notion of the article is that taking time off is wrong. No, it is not. For what we know, the person taking time off could be sick, mentaly or phisically. The author of the article needs to be more humane.

I usually leave it to the devops to deal with it. If it has to be a developer on my team to do it then you are right, I will spend their time elsewhere.

I see a lot of mod_security misconfiguration across hostings. While I think it is a great tool, these misconfigs make it difficult for me to recommend it.

Scanning bots consume resources and traffic. I pay for both. They increase my bill so it makes sense to restrict them.

It is a good advice but the OP is asking for web log files not ssh and any other logs. You cannot remove the attack surface when the app/service is served via http

We also use fail2ban. It serves us good. When adding a new rule, we dont apply it but collect all the matched requests and ips. After 1 week, we review the log and if no customer traffic was captured, the rule is applied. We ban only for 30

Depressed people do not go out. Vitamin D comes mostly from Sunlight. Vitamin D is not the cause. I am pretty sure that weight imballance can also be found in such individuals.

It is not about popularity, it is about the resources Electron apps use vs native. The apps that you mentioned do not have good native alternatives. I cannot see anyone preferring a native app over Electron app if both offer the same featur

300MB of ram sounds like a lot to me. What are you storing in memory that is that large? If I dont use the app for 1 hour will it stop using the memory?

Look at the original report that the graphs are based on. I think that's where the useful data is. Braintree's fraud prevention is poor and based on generic metrics. One of my businesses had 32% chargebacks with their service.

Stripe fraud prevention is not sophistocated at all. I have been trying different fraud prevention providers and all of them are lame. They check if the ip of the buyer matches the billing location of the card and if not they will not accep
