From casually looking through the src tree, core looks to be mostly c++, with obj-c++ glue.

I realize it's a statement of praise, but I think Marc is legendary in the valley and an immensely successful investor/veteran of the business. Implying that he'd be in the running to become an employee at GitHub just felt off. Again, hard

I love GitHub, but anyone else felt it was a little immodest for TPW to say they'd "hire Marc" if they could? Can't put it into words, but I don't feel that Tom is in the position to make that statement.

This is a very good starting document: http://code.google.com/p/browsersec/ (Also, anything icamtuf touches is probably going to be good.)

I think this is a good list on how to get good at learning to jump between layers of abstraction with gusto, but I think ultimately this all needs to be motivated by a desire to actually exploit or reverse engineer something (as your latter

Hah. This reminds me of a conversation I had with my dentist. I was there for yet another appointment to work on a root canal and wondered out loud why I don't hear more about efforts to regrow actual teeth as opposed to the gruesome practi

Just wanted to chime in that I recently had a very similar conversation with my parents. Thanked them and chatted about the effort they went through to uproot their entire life and immigrate. Guess what I'm trying to say is, if you've been

Geoff & Co, this is wonderful! (Not sure if you remember, but I met you in SF at one point a few years ago and we wandered around the downtown talking for a little bit. Was actually just wondering what you were up to)

Am I in the minority in thinking this didn't need a clarification? It was aimed at a technical audience that would likely catch the humor and direct signs of fiction. I do realize that the impact of the story led to its larger audience, but

Dan, I remember seeing your story those 1394 days ago (only to join a few days later) and it's amazing to see what you've accomplished. I've been working on trying to get out and do other interesting things around that aren't tech-related,

I hate this argument too, so it's a good thing no one in this thread is making it. The conversation here is about discovering talented acts who would have been popular in a classic promotion environment but need the initial audience.

Just wanted to chime in: I paid Fabrizio for PragmataPro last year and haven't regretted it a bit. Maybe paying $100+ for a font isn't for everyone, but my entire life revolves around looking at fixed-width fonts and it's important to me. A

I believe you entirely missed the point. This was more of an "Look at how you can abuse the loader and play with ELF headers" and in general show an interesting 'hacky' article, not "this is smaller, thus more efficient" argument.

If you're serious about this, get a Fuji ScanSnap scanner (I have the S1500). Scans about 15 double-sided pages per minute and converts to OCR'd PDFs. Any new mail you receive, scan, shred (archive if important) and backup.
