How journalism and media evolve is key to democracy over the long run. Its inability to change and adapt to the times has already caused grave damage, but the damage it will cause going forward could be greater. Social media and the suppose

We know why the decline is happening. However, I am more curious to see how long people's memory will last. Also a little surprised that there isn't a whole lot of decline in the US.

I don't see how we make the jump from current LLMs to AGI. May be it's my limited understanding of the research but current LLMs seem to not have any properties that indicate AGI. Would love to get thoughts from someone that under

In my experience using these supposed expert models, they are all more or less the same given they all are trained on the same internet data. The differentiation and value is in the context window management and how relevant info from your

How much of a difference would I see in compute between an M2 and M4 for example? Assuming it’s the same RAM. Did they also make the gpu and neural engine that much better between the two?

This is unavoidable. Individual blogs may not use AI but companies that live on user engagement will absolutely use them and churn out all types of content

This title feels so 2015. We now know the causes are instagram/tiktok or may be even the new llms even though less likely. Why not just say that?

If deepseek and qwen are capable why does one need to use OpenAI models? Are their models really that much better? If not the only they bring is the hosting service. N that scenario how long do they have this advantage before aws or Microso

I don’t quite follow. The way I see it, I hat the llm “reads” depends on the input modality. If the input is a human it will be in text form, has to be. If the input is through a camera then yes, even text will be camera frames and pixels,

I thought the are on a hiring spree for AI roles. Axing jobs in that exact org doesn’t send a good message, not just within the company but also to the larger AI ecosystem and markets.

This is not new right, LLMs are dumb, they just do everything they are told, and so the orchestration before and after the LLM execution holds key. Even without security, ChatGPT or gemini's value is not just in the LLM but the product

Perplexity is in real trouble. OpenAI and now Anthropic realized that the real money is in search. Perplexity showed the business model and OpenAI is using it just like meta does with snap. They don’t even own their own models, not that it’

All current use cases, the ones that caught the public eye, just don't have a need for locally run LLMs. Apple has to come up with functionality that can work with on-device LLMs and that is hard to do. There aren't that many use

I am not surprised because the culture at meta is not at all, even in the slightest, to focus on science for the sake of it. It’s actively actively purged out of you. The focus is on metrics and how the bottom line is impacted. So this is i

What is the need for another stock exchange? I hate that I am thinking like this but this is just going to be politicized heavily and companies like Tesla and coke will just switch to that exchange causing further more rift in our society.
