Give it some time, touch is only a few years old. Dragging definitely needs to be improved, no question. I don't need to take the eyes of the screen, but maybe I am not the everage user. If you take a look at how less tech oriented people u

Do you have any studies to base than on? Because I believe the opposite. The mouse is a nightmare: First you have to find it on your desk or whereever you happen to work. Then, you have to focus on the screen and try to find that tiny littl

Why would you have your finger pressed to the screen for 5 minutes? Asuming that the number of notebook style PCs continues to rise, your fingers, when on the keyboard are actually pretty close to the screen, often closer than they are to t

Sorry, English is my 4th foreign language. However, for more than some decades, both is gramatically correct (unlike in my native language where you actually have to use declinations). Anyway, it was a serious question.

I am pretty sure it's the mouse that will valish, and your office PC will have a touch screen as well. I have done it quite a few times already, touching the screen of my netbook, only to realize that its not my smartphone. In 5 year, every

The only thing to ever put in a cookie is the SESSION ID! Never put any user credentials into a cookie! If you need the user's email or name on the client, put it into the HTML or load it via AJAX.

(1) You mean like when you do the same thing with Javascript? Why its okay then? (2) If you alter a parent element with CSS that's "action on a distance" as well. Your argument is not very convincing.

We should be careful to not mix Anonymous with other groups that use actual physical violence in order to generate fear to destroy societies. Comparing the Jakarte bombings with a simple server break-in is totally out of place.

Could you explain why? Let's say you have a clickable element and want to display a status text on hover. The status texts are loaded in some divs somewhere else on the page. You would need JS to catch onhover and then swap the display:hidd

Again, what I care about is not the syntax but the functionality. If you want write it as body > div:if(body > ul > li:only-child) { background:green } body > div:not(body > ul > li:only-child) { background:green } w

There is one good point in the comments: "MATH! We need math! 50% -5px It’s stupid having to do things like this in JS." Completely agree! It should be possible to do this. And please: vertical-align:center for any block element. Or is that

Why only select an element based on its children? How about el /if/ el > .someclass:hover { some:style; } Style an element "el" if some other element exists or event occurs.

Not really laughing. I don't really call myself a programmer, but I am always amazed at these kind of simple-but-dangerous mistakes. Accepting a user_id as a lookup value for a DB update? What for! Take the session_id and look up the user_i
