Not in terms of UI, no. If you write your non-UI code in shared libraries that are PCL or .NET Standard and have your web-server use them too, Xamarin enables that scenario, but doesn't really bring anything else to the table for a we

Well, sharing business logic can reduce # of bugs and keep behavior consistent between platforms. That being said, actually shipping the same code on both platforms has its own costs and considerations.

I don't feel that "stalled" this is correct at all. They had a massive feature update via 1.5 in Oct. and 1.6 entered customer beta in May. They just haven't shipped your preferred feature.

This was fun to look at from a novelty perspective as a native application developer. Q: Should Rust be considered a noteworthy web backend development option, or is there just not much community activity for that?

I'm hopeful about this -- it looks like it fits my personal use cases anyway. I've used several location sharing apps to share my location with family during commutes & road trips -- and all of them suffer from various feature

This is a very valid critique in terms of graphic design. (For anyone confused by the mention of graphic design: it's all about communicating information through visuals.)

Agreed. It might be nice if Apple extended their "Do you want to continue allowing XYZ to use Location Services" prompt to other permissions, provided it wasn't too aggressive.

It's partially Facebook doing it right, but not exactly noteworthy. iOS devs can proactively request permissions whenever, and tell you whatever useless reason they want, but that usually gets users to tap "Don't Allow"

I'm curious to see comparisons on a 64bit ARM cpu, since that's what Apple likely optimized it for. (I don't expect a huge difference, but I'm admittedly ignorant on this topic.)

Yeah, I think a more meaningful critique here would be "Google should draw more visual attention to certain dangerous permissions like these, over less impactful ones." Also, it's easy for users to click buttons and go "

My first thought in reading that as well. We all know how great security by obscurity works for computers! That being said, I don't mean to trivialize the problem/task.
