Not exactly. For example, IO actually existed in Haskell before the IO Monad. It essentially used lists injected and retuned from the main function, plus the fact that Haskell is lazily evaluated (so those IO commands in the list wouldn’t b

Do you know if they’re required to use the +alias format? I’ve been burnt in the past by bad contact forms silently stripping out special characters out of email addresses.

Any recommendations for email providers that support wildcard addresses (e.g. I can just give someone foobarbaz@y2bd.email without having manually set it up beforehand and it works)? I currently use ProtonMail which does support this, but P

IIRC Apple doesn’t require in-app purchases for “physical” goods. Obviously a JPG of a barcode that lets me on a plane or into a movie theater itself isn’t a physical good, but I guess it’s in service of one. There are a couple of exception

I typically use https://rateyourmusic.com to find new stuff. Not their recommendation system, that’s trash. Instead, I find albums I already know I like and look for well-written reviews on the album page. Then I click into the

What was your intent behind adopting the "Tweetdeck" style of UI for this presentation? Tweetdeck's intent is supposedly that you'd need to be monitoring multiple feeds efficiently (e.g. you are a social media manager wi

Fellow Seattlite here. Seeing folks in this thread talking about grocery stores being 40+ minute walks away from grocery stores is making me sweat. I like the idea of moving somewhere cheaper, but I refuse the idea of being forced to drive

One potential reason to prefer Amazon over Microsoft and Boeing here is that Amazon is majority in Seattle proper, while the vast majority of Microsoft and Boeing are outside of the city (e.g. Redmond, Bellevue).

Type it as `Record<string, R>` where `R` is your return type and you’d be fine in most cases. You could even make `R` a union type if necessary.
