Unions are all about your position in the union and your tenure. They are discriminating by age through explicit design, and in favor of most powerful and least vulnerable actors on the job market.

One reason why people talk about “hurricane insurance subsidies” in the first place is that it is hard to quantify, so it’s hard to call people on their bullshit. This is similar to introducing arcane metrics like for example “federal depen

These companies are losing a lot of money. That the raw ingredients are cheap doesn’t matter much if the cost and complexity of processing is high.

May I ask you what you think about Blackmun’s opinion in Roe v. Wade’s case? Was it correctly argued as a matter of constitutional law and historical practice?

This is a reason, but there are other reasons too. For example, developing nations are often full of corrupt practices. This typically is not a huge problem for investors, you just pay a few bribes, it’s a cost of doing business. What is a

Dams can release water downstream as needed. Without them, water would just drain out to sea/ocean in the wet season, and in the dry season would be completely gone. Without dams, American southwest literally wouldn’t exist.
