This was my experience as well with Project Fi. Good data, bad voice. T-mobile and ATT based MVNOs have typically given me better voice service.

There's at least one startup trying to take advantage of the ugly produce gap. I've only received one box so far, but it was all great produce and some of it quite hard to figure out what made it imperfect. https://www.

This is the major roadblock for me to leave Chrome. The Firefox containers are close, but don't quite hit the mark in the same way as Chrome's profiles.

You basically typed out what I would have typed, but got lazy and just said "reasons are complex." There's something of a joke/quote in university circles about how universities went from "state funded to state supp

In my experience (former PhD student and instructor and my spouse is a full-time faculty and program director), if you're a tenured faculty member at a R1 university, then grant writing is your job. You're expected to be self-fund

I'm not sure why you're downvoted. This is a real problem that is palpable for anyone that has worked in higher ed since the 1980s as most universities have moved to act more and more like for-profit entities. The reasons for this

For me it's a combination of consistent speed and being able to not care about inclines at all. The safest bike route to work for me is ~2 miles longer than the optimal route and includes a steep incline. This is a pain on a regular bi

Thanks for the reminder. I remember checking that out when it first launched and then I drifted away from using it for reasons that I no longer recall. I'll check it out again.

Chrome profiles are the killer feature for me that prevent me from moving to another browser. I wasn't surprised to see profiles in the short list of reasons to stick with Chrome. Privacy implications be damned, I liked having separate

This is an accepted, if not encouraged, practice at my employer and it is much appreciated. Entire teams tend to schedule their "WFH" days together as a general time to focus, no meetings, etc. And, the teams that don't sched

Unfortunately, the 'rich kid' advantage starts ~18 years before they take a free online SAT prep class. Reasons are vast and entangled with race, geolocation, socio-economic status, health, and even fundamental differences in brai

I turn off all phone notifications. My information consumption is pull only, no push. Once you no longer the little 'reminders' the urge starts to subside and becomes more manageable and less distracting.

Another case for moderation in all things. If you're tired of standing, then sit for a while. If you're tired of sitting, then stand for a while. Don't build a $22 IKEA desk. If you spend 100% of your work day at a desk, then

This is my plan as well. I'll continue to use classic thru it's end-of-life support cycle and then revisit nYNAB and see if they've managed to at least hit feature parity.
