If you actually want to, you know, read the article, you can run this in the console once the page loads: a = $("#abovefold").find("> .fleft"); a.parents().andSelf().siblings().add(a.find("hgroup, h1, .contains_vestpocket").siblings()).

Well, that went from a terribly link-baity title to an absolutely non-informative one. Not sure which one is worse.

The tokenizer is the easy part. The overall goal of this, writing a C++11 compliant compiler + associated standard libraries is going to be near impossible.

"I can't have 8 chat rooms open, that's just silly" Why is that silly? Why would messages about all 8 projects be going into the same space? Shouldn't they be separated? That's exactly how we filter out all the different messages. And Hipch

The article says "After 10 hours", so I'm assuming that's how long it took (that took me a while to find, also). Actually pretty amazing that they were able to do it so quickly.

I think it depends on the context. In this case, I think that "serverless" would mean "doesn't depend on an external server, only the two clients", because that's the only really important distinction you could make about servers.

I think that if you were comparing, say, erlang threads to Haskell threads then you would be comparing the languages because both of them have their own internal threads. Because C has no such concept, and can only use hardware/OS threads,

I'm pretty sure it used to exist, and then got taken down because it had too much crap on it. Looks like they've redesigned it, and are hoping that they'll get less crap this time around.

Commenting on the state of OS X right now: There's this 'Gatekeeper' feature (which can be disabled, but starts enabled) that makes it so a developer has to have a signed certificate from apple in order to run on OS X. If someone starts rel

There is a point in having small degrees, in that small fluctuations in the weather are more noticeable. I can say that the weather will be in the 60s today, and people will know what I mean, but saying it will be in the 20s today (in celci

I came up with for(i=0;i<100;)console.log((++i%3?"":"Fizz")+(i%5?"":"Buzz")||i) earlier. 64 characters, because I don't have "var ", an extra set of parens, and a semicolon. Worse syntax, but hey, it's code golf.

New exercises are added every so often. For example, some basic matrix math was just added a couple weeks ago. We're currently iterating on our current, lower level ones, to try to figure out what works the best, before we move on to higher

Does the SanDisk Extreme post speed ratings? It looks like the flash drive shown in the article has some of the fastest posted speeds, at 200 MB/s read, 120 MB/s write. The SanDisk Extreme doesn't post speeds, it appears, but just says "up

I came here to say just this. Anyone who wants to do real socket programming should learn some of the low level reasons for how sockets work behind the scenes. Plus, it's a great read! (I especially like his story about IPv6)
