The pub package management tool allows you to fetch libraries from a git repo or the local filesystem, see here: http://pub.dartlang.org/doc/dependencies.html#git-packages

@ChuckMcM The DartVM uses a method JIT which compiles the source code directly to machine code. An interpreter has a main loop which runs instructions one at a time. Wikipedia is a good place to start if you'd like to understand the differe

I had a quick look at this. It appears the DartVM is now beating the JVM even at 100,000 iterations (Previously Java edged out Dart at higher iterations). 100,000 iterations takes ~45 seconds to run on my computer. At a lower number of iter

If adding signatures to a codebase, why not use the closure syntax? Because then you also get a compiler which gives you nice warnings as well as better minification.

On the Richards benchmark it's 1.9x. After 2 years this is pretty impressive. Due the nature of the Dart language the DartVM will make a number of optimizations possible that are not even possible in V8. So it will be a better platform for

The DartVM has supported for typed arrays too, so it probably wouldn't be much work to hack emscripten to generate Dart source code. It would be very interesting to see a benchmark of emscripten/SomethingMonkey/asm.js vs emscripten/DartVM.

You can pull a 10 tonne yacht with one hand on a rope. Try pulling a 10 tonne truck... Also according to the US Transportation Energy Book, waterbourne transport more than a order of magnitude more efficient than road freight, and about 50%
