The biggest complaint about Wikipedia I have is that they do not allow edits via VPNs, even for the registered users. These days VPN is a necessity in many places, thus it limits a big amount of potential contributors.

Common Lisp standard (and its implementations) really needs an uplift to shine. There are so many shortcomings and missing features in it that listing them here would take a lot of space. Instead, I will point to some proposals like Common

eSIMs are perfect for travel. The only downside is that many phones still allow only one or two active eSIMs. Would be great to have all of them active - be able to receive SMS and calls at least.

Linux now supports real time too, even mainline. And there are open source RTOSes for smaller chips and critical applications like FreeRTOS.

There is also a FWWM[1] "skin" that doesn't require long time abandoned C code - NsCDE[2]. It still requires X server (just like CDE itself) which becomes rarity these days. They need to port it to Wayland eventually. [1] ht

I always liked their original UI - Photon[1][2]. Very lightweight and fast. Also a distinct and consistent style. I understand why they dropped it in favor of Qt and later Web technologies, but it's still a big loss. [1] https:/&

Biggest problem of mdBook is the lack of the good PDF and ePub export[1]. This is why Quarto[2] (based on pandoc) is a better choice if you need both online and offline rendered documentation/text. And Typst (or LaTeX for more conserva

The concept is widely covered in the amazing book Silence on the Wire[1] by Michal Zalewski. I wish he or someone else would write modern equivalent (or at least a new, updated edition) of the book. [1] https://nostarch.com/
