Is this Video app you're talking about? Video app launches the video in full screen and there's no way to exit unless you stop the video. I just look at my iPad again and the top area seems to be the play button. Still thinking about the mi

I wish Nokia bought Palm when they had the chance. However I don't find this deal too bad for Nokia, we don't know the exact terms behind it. Now the smartphone OS market is getting more and more interesting =).

The most valuable things in WebOS are the GUI and UX design, not the kernel or drivers. I'm interested to see what they came up with in tablet form.

I don't think so. WebOS is a valuable asset and HP definitely want to keep it to themselves. We'll see =).

Not sure if this is a stupid question. How do you fire people? Do you need to give them any buffer time (e.g., 1 month, just like you can give 1 month notice before resign)? How about the potential damage they could leave in that time? I'm

I strongly disagree, it's not the same analogy. Linux developers explicit say you can use the code for free. It's more like Linus say you can't use the code, but Google use them anyway. Btw, Google contributed a lot to open source projects.

Remember, not everyone is a hacker. For my non geek friends, Dropbox is magic. It just works. I could imagine the world 1000000 times better if everyone can fire up a shell and do something with that. Sadly it's not the case.

No one here uses SizeUp and JumpCut? They're pretty awesome. http://jumpcut.sourceforge.net/ http://www.irradiatedsoftware.com/sizeup/

You should give keyboard shortcut a try (require JS). This alone forces me to use JS in gmail.

If my app is not designed for the iPad, no. If it is, I don't have to test on the previous 2 devices.

Please read, I never whine about Android fragmentation. I'm saying iOS (at least to me) is not as fragmented as Android, so the title is misleading.

Sometimes you need to test on real devices for real performance and experience. I only have to test my app on my iPhone 4 and 2nd gen iPod touch. Same thing applies to beta testing on iOS, but since Apple don't allow beta app, developers ha

It's fairly easy, just save your old SHSH blobs (I always jailbreak my device so I'm not sure if jailbreak is required, there's a tool called TinyUmbrella to do it), then you can downgrade to whatever version you want.

Instead of testing on 5+ devices for Android, you just have to buy an old iPod touch with 3.1.3 on it. Is it too costly for you?

I think everyone is talking in Mac context here. It's more laggy than Textmate when I open a 500-line-file. Unfortunately I don't have 500MB ASCII file to test.

I made this little app in a few hours, just for fun. You can make your profile looks like this: http://techcrunch.com/2010/12/12/no-its-not-a-facebook-profi... I would probably improve it later today, this is the very minimal version. Tel
