It sounds like "use a passcode on your phone and NEVER unlock (enter the passcode) while the phone is plugged into this charger" is also a defense. Unlock to check your email while plugged in? Compromised.

This is one of those things that requires a balance. I do not want a junior asking me something that they could just as easily Google. I DO want them to ask me about some company- or domain- specific tech, so I can save them a day of rese

I see a lot of people with the "get your head down and code" attitude, and it MAY be appropriate at the junior level. At the senior level - as you note - someone has to make sure that the RIGHT work is being done, not simply that

The methodology seems obvious - interpret every three bytes in the text as a pixel in an image, compress the image, then reinterpret each (post-compression) pixel as three ASCII characters. This is not about OCR.

This is gross, not net, right? If they're spending 500,000 a day on advertising / paid installs then it's not as impressive. They have the volume, but are they making a profit?

One image that has been associated with the protests is actually of the marathon. If you see a photo with only one lane of traffic blocked and the other flowing, it is not from the marathon. The bridge pictures here appear to be legit. h

There's one simple trick: pay the copyright holder whose work you are exploiting. Once you have a license you have nothing to worry about. If you don't do that, then any recognizable* use of someone else's image is a copyright violation. *T

"Disney have used it" is correct here, in British English. "It’s one of my favourite images I created at University" could use a [while] to my ear, but it's not so bad. The world is a big place.
