On a side note, I met a couple today who decided to go to the super bowl, and claimed that they were dropping $3k per ticket, not including air-fare and hotel. They didn't want to have nose-bleed tickets, but they didn't need to

Sounds reasonable. The political optics angle might be interesting, since the "1%" is heavily labor based (Lawyers, Doctors, etc.), and the 0.01% isn't labor based, and I wonder how much it is resource based (i.e. Bill Gates

So, I'm not up to speed on this issue, but can anyone give a brief summary or link describing why we need a special "extra-legal" department like CPS? Extra-legal probably isn't the exact wording I'm looking for, b

Am I misunderstanding things? From reading the linked article, there was $1.3 billion spent studying whether we should actually undertake the study. Not the actual study itself (which presumably would cost significantly more?)

I just visited Walmart after about 2 years, just to see what they're all about. What I found was a bunch of cheap stuff, none of which I would ever buy. I tried their fountain drinks and the results were reasonable, but not superior

Extrapolating anything from Iceland seems dubious. Since it is tiny (300,000) and so culturally and racially homogenous (84% of Icelanders apparently belong to the official state Luthern church). http://en.wikipedia.org/wik
