They provide a great service, and I use them all the time, but I don't like how their pricing scheme works for freelancers. You end up with a million small private repositories, and BitBucket has much more reasonable options.

It depends on whether you want to make them yourself or buy them. If you want to make them yourself, street sweeper bristles work well (just follow a street sweeper on a bicycle and you'll get a few), as do the strips of spring steel inside

Any chance of a visitors over time graph? It would be interesting to see the traffic distribution over time.

They're distributing it through a PPA, so assuming that you click "Install" when update manager bugs you once a week, you should have the newest version.

Nearly all of the introductory PHP tutorials use MySQL, so many beginning web developers automatically go to MySQL because it is the only thing they have played around with.

It passed? I haven't been able to find anything about it passing, and GovTrack[0] still shows that neither the house nor senate has voted on it. [0]: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s112-968

There is no approval process, no central authority. If you want your CA in OS X, you talk to Apple, if you want it in Windows, you talk to Microsoft. If you want it in Firefox, you talk to Mozilla.

You should still buy it though. The authors made a great product and deserve to be compensated well for their work.

I'm not an expert, but HTTP travels over TCP and, if I remember correctly, TCP uses sequence numbers to prevent IP spoofing.

Apple's definition of a "Universal Binary" is an executable the runs on both PPC and x86. However, it is possible to create a fat binary that runs on all three architectures at the same time. An example of how to do it: http://ngmarley.com

Wow, that is strikingly similar. I notice how neither commented on the technical ramifications of this, and gave a generic "this will protect us from evil pirates" response.

I don't mind those as much, but what really kills it for me is the lack of separation between the language and the standard library.
