One other level of classification that is missing here is "Free, but requires a local phone number." Oftentimes, the operator will send you an SMS with a one-time password, but they require a local phone number to send it to. Or

It was 4.2.5-1-ARCH, and I didn't file a bug report, no. I didn't have much data to submit. No kernel panics, no useful error messages, nothing beyond it saying it wouldn't mount. One could read the tea leaves from the file

I decided to try BTRFS on my NAS because it didn't require rebuilding a kernel. The ability to add disks to an array and have it rebalance made it very appealing. Unfortunately, the three-drive filesystem lasted two weeks before it be

This is purely speculation, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was a pin-strapping method that disabled the boot ROM and caused it to be read off the EIM interface, which is probably how the ROM was debugged in the first place

Aside from the fact that we're familiar with Freescale and ARM, many other chips we "could have used" are unobtanium. While it's true that there is a source-level implementation, I can't find any T1 or T2 parts ava

There were a few issues with that design. One was that we never really got hinges working. I bought some friction hinges, but couldn't settle on a way to attach them. The temporary bodge was to 3D print some chucks with an angle on

The theory is that the boot firmware is executed with the MMU off, and then jumps to your code and is done. Unless you specifically call into ROM, it just sits there unused. Now it could be that there is some hardcoded exception handler in

The GPU is being worked on. The Mesa driver is being worked on as we speak by a number of people including rmk and jnettlet, with austriancoder's experimental repo located at https://github.com/austriancoder/mesa-

As a number of people have mentioned, compatibility is one reason. However, there's another reason, particularly for flash drives: the FAT itself. Flash drives tend to be MLC or TLC NAND flash, which is slow and can sometimes be error

You can add ConditionPathExists= or ConditionPathIsDirectory= to a Unit to check if one or more directories exist. You can also substitute the userid into commands with %U, so you could have it always chown before running the command, as

We run into the same problem on ARM systems, but they tend to be much more forgiving when using cache as RAM. Generally there is a bit you can flip (either in memory-mapped IO or as a coprocessor instruction) to turn cache into RAM, which
