Neat! One problem I can see is that query strings aren't dictionaries, so valid parameters can vanish: >>> furl('http://www.example.com?foo=1&foo=2') furl('http://www.example.com?foo=1') See Werkzeug's MultiDict

Hmm, you might want to consider a different name for the project, since there is already a well-known handlebars.js: http://www.handlebarsjs.com/

> It shows off what a clever person can achieve by tinkering with a system You could say the same about the Gosper glider gun. I don't want to be part of a hacker community that doesn't encourage autotelic projects.

(note: I'm not a githubber) It has some web-oriented features like auto-linkification, condensing long responses, embedding of images, tweets, videos... It's better to think of Campfire as a client than a protocol; there's nothing it doesn'

I've identified this as a form of humor. Homines sapientes react to it like this: Ho! Ho!

I could have sworn CrunchBase had a metric for public opinion of a particular company, but either I was mistaken or they've discontinued it. "Monsanto" would certainly be followed by an angry frowny face.

Funny, I suspect it's just the opposite. Long-standing regular contributors are unlikely to be put off by the error messages, especially if they're technically knowledgeable and understand why the error is occurring. On the other hand, new

I think that's a mischaracterization of medical research. New drugs and treatments don't spring forth from the ether. Progress in modern medicine is incremental and based on the methods we already know to be effective. I expect that a trial

Sorry, but I disagree. I don't want to see alternative medicine advocacy here; as superstition it is antithetical to the hacker philosophy. Would that I could downvote in meatspace and relegate this nonsense to oblivion, where it belongs.

Wait, I think I've missed something because that response seems overly dismissive. How is offloading CPU-intensive stuff to a worker system not getting it done?

To clarify, this was only the first result. The others did have the phrase, and it was highlighted in their snippets.

Yes, they are. I don't have the example handy, so you'll have to take my word for it. My query was 'sqlalchemy "some quoted phrase"' and the first result didn't contain the phrase anywhere in the page. Out of desperation, I tried a +, and w

Sorry, but that's entirely your fault. Even if you missed the "please allow AVOS to migrate your stuff" e-mail Yahoo! sent when Delicious was acquired, you could have easily grabbed a JSON dump of your bookmarks at any time in the past eigh

It's strange; I found little to disagree with in this post, but when I went back to read the original, something about it rubbed me the wrong way. It seems to me that this response was written because people (including myself) get jumpy whe

I'm alarmed that the comments here are so bitter. Am I the only one who's had a positive experience with G+ so far? (Is my perception rose-tinted because I really, really want Facebook to die?) The new Hangout stuff is great, and the additi

Maybe I'm just grouchy today, but what's inconceivable to me is why you'd write an Oh No The Hivemind comment on this topic of all things. Some workflows actually are suboptimal.

My understanding is that Linodes aren't really "for" storage. IIRC it's often more cost-effective to just upgrade to a larger Linode than to add additional storage. I'd recommend storing bulk data on S3, but as you said, you're wary of AWS

This post has good intentions (I'm all for the sharing of professional knowledge!) but contains a lot of red flags, such as sending data to clients that they don't need and can only use incorrectly, inadvertently, or maliciously. The whole
