One thing I don't like about R is the OOP part of R. I don't see any reason of R including OOP into its design and sometimes it just creates confusions.

The author is silly. Studies have been conducted to account for selection bias. Because, by law, students have to be randomly selected to get into charter schools with lotteries, it is not hard to control for the selective effects. Check th

This is silly. Not every programmer is or will be a professional programmer. For example, I am a researcher and I use programming in my research projects. I cannot live without using Visual Studio for C#, RStudio for R, SAS Windows for SAS.

This is silly attack. The 10,000 Hour Rule says you need 10,000 Hour practice to master a field. It does not say 10,000 Hour practice is the only/most important factor in performance. It has nothing to do with explanation of variances

"But charter students do about the same, over all, as their public school counterparts" -- what a pathetic liar. There are redundant empirical evidence supports that charter students perform better. This author is totally progress

This article is total bullshit. "practice accounted for just a 12% difference in performance in various domains" is not contrary to "10,000 hours of deliberate practice are needed to become world-class in any field". For
