Thanks! I was considering that for a while, but then - the startups I worked with used Google Apps. For setting up mail servers on FreeBSD it would probably be easier to have someone port Zimbra.

Technically - $50k gross is, at current exchange rates, around EUR 3800 per month (before tax). But yes, once you reach EUR 2000 net, you can have a very comfortable lifestyle.

With the difference that $100k is easily reachable in Silicon Valley for engineering positions even before reaching senior levels. Here in Tallinn, not so much.

Based on lines changed, merge requests accepted/rejected, etc etc. You know, GitHub developers are quite smart. They could just write their own weighting algorithm if they wanted to. :-)
