I think it's also just individual differences. Some people are naturally more prone to RSI than others. I get a bit of pain from long typing, especially writing prose, but it usually resolves itself pretty quick. However I knew a guy d

Thanks for the very in depth reply! That was a very interesting read, especially how you managed beneficial ownership. It does sound like hard work, and expensive. I guess I'm convinced it's possible, but it does sound like it wou

So say I go offline for a day, make a change at 12:00, someone else makes a conflicting change at 18:00, I reconnect at 19:00, my change will take precedence? That seems wrong. Maybe one should take the larger of the server and client times

Something I just thought about: On a Last-Write-Wins CRDTs, can I just set my computer's time to like 100 years in the future, and thus make changes that can never be reverted by anyone?

Everyone still uses log4j after the fix. There aren't many full-featured alternatives... and the one that exist probably contain unfixed bugs.

I don't think it's possible to test a sufficiently complex system that isn't somewhat restricted in the states it goes through, which requires typing. Consider a finite state machine with N states. There are a priori NxN poss

High test coverage is useful in the environment where the code is not adequately typed. That's because static types adequate to make the code bulletproof will also detect the problems unit tests could detect, rendering high unit test c

Sure, but I feel you are rather unlikely to need to change time zone while snorkelling (unless you snorkel really far!). I understand the point of watches, just not why you would care about the lack of hack for changing the hour.
