that's sure taking the easy way out. "we can't give reasons because you have a sort of mild mental illness that prevents you from listening to any." you could ask them to give you reasons in text that you'll show a third party for evaluatio

well, what do they say the benefits would be? ask them to give solid reasons, and explain it until you are convinced! and they ought to have a plan for how you can do it before being sure it's a good thing for you to do. also they should be

"it's a feature not a bug" what do you imagine would be the great benefits of having more casual social interactions?

there are a lot of replies kind of like this. but wouldn't it be better to learn to accurately judge people, and not socialize with people who aren't worthwhile?

No. Why is it that racism is super untrendy, but this kind of nationalistic prejudice against foreigners is trendy? Why are Americans more deserving of a given job, just because they are American, and even if they will do an equally good jo

youtube doesn't do much besides make a few things easy: make a file web accessible and convert to another format and provide comments and some text people can paste to embed it, and i guess favorites and a bit more -- all the kinds of thing

yes. but that's not necessarily a bad thing to say about scribd. if scribd makes it easier for people to not know anything about how to use computers, then that's valuable to lots of people.

I deny that the theory of genetic male/female differences in what interests one has (or tends to have) is plausible. I think it is like astrology. One takes something, and says it causes something else, for no reason. One needs an explanati

If the reason that there are less women in technical subjects is that their minds have been crippled by their upbringing (at a higher rate, for these particular subjects), then that is an important problem.

how is "anyone will tell you it's awesome" different than "popular"? if they know something that makes it fundamentally important you could relate what that thing is, rather than just implying there is one.
