I've used it for about a decade or so. It's really good, but the entire program is tightly coupled with old MS APIs/IE, so importing material is a pain. Roughly the process goes: Import article -> read section (create extr

This project got me to buy a full NKRO keyboard. I dislike how every system/theory has their own dictionary for words and in addition to that, it's heavily encouraged to customize your dictionary for the work you're doing. Th

If it works well, I wouldn't be opposed to using it. $30 is kind of steep, but a web browser is something I spend the vast majority of my computing time using. Depends on how good the tab management is, and how fast it starts up locall

One feature I wish SR software had was a tool to let you know if you were going to make a "bad card". There's a definite skill curve in making material at first. You can't tell until you've repeated a card a few tim

I wonder how this one will go. I wish I lived closer to most of these companies data centers. It'd be great living in Spookville, Virginia right about now if you were into these game streaming services.

I dislike how there are so many theories and it's heavily encouraged to modify your own dictionary. Makes it somewhat more difficult to learn.

I wonder if the bubble is mostly an issue with franchising coming out of Acti-Blizzard and Riot Games? The CGS (championship gaming series, mentioned in article) crushed CS in North America and it didn't pick back up until CS:GO came o

Can you make cloze deletions from the material? I watched the video haphazardly, and was unable to tell.

Interestingly enough I bought this what I thought was a scam/sham/illegitimately represented product from Bas Rutten (the O2 Trainer) awhile ago on a lark. It seems like it actually has some merit (at least the idea, most likely n

You can do this in Supermemo quite easily. It does have interleaving (mixing multiple "decks") by default, although you can do reviews from one deck if you want to. You'd be losing FOSS, Linux, and IMHO my favorite feature, t

That would make sense. The app was working fairly well, and you could guess what the offense was going to do on each play. It's going to be interesting to see where the league goes.

I've recently started getting into watching football. There's a great amount of tactical depth, and I really appreciate that it's one of the few sports where the coach has a very noticeable impact on the outcome of the game.

I can't believe Quest Nutrition was founded in 2010. I started exercising regularly around then, and I remember people talking about it being the only bar worth buying in like 2011-2012. Based off how people talked about the company, I

There's a few decks I've seen for math/CS, but I haven't had much luck myself, and have resorted to making my own. I've been trying to figure out the best way to do it. It's pretty easy to do with Supermemo. Bu

It's fairly easy to taper your nicotine usage (as well as make your own juice), but I wouldn't expect teenagers to care that much, or use less nicotine even if they were making their own. I had a few incidents with caffeine/e

You can with Supermemo's incremental reading feature. There is a plugin for YouTube if you can find your podcast there. I'd recommend converting your ebook to html first though.

I've found improv to be frustrating (but not anxiety inducing) in the sense that you can "yes and" a topic to a place that's difficult for someone else to pick up. Almost like you're playing catch, but you tossed th

You can import entire articles into Supermemo and break them down into flashcards without leaving the program. Anki just gives you flashcards. There's an incremental reading plugin for Anki, but it doesn't work very well. Incremen

There's an actual program, and a saas version. The saas version isn't worth paying for (imo) over using AnkiWeb unless you wanted preformatted decks, and the most up to date version of the algorithm. I've experimented with us

Supermemo has the best implementation of incremental reading and somewhat pioneered it. It's only downside is it's heavily tied into windows. [1] [1] https://www.supermemo.com/help/read.htm

Other than Anki, clozemaster and supermemo.com are two good paid options. I'm currently paying for supermemo.com*, and the two decks I'm using for Spanish seem to be pretty good. Clozemaster uses word frequency lists and sentences
