I know it is possible. But I wonder what stops us from doing it for most programs we write from day to day. And, if proving correctness is indeed important (I believe so), can we do something / what is the next thing to do to enable

If program correctness is easy to prove, why we are not doing that when using either C or Haskell?

Hmm.. so is there any work done on program verification, or process communication analysis, with Core Erlang?

From the benchmark results, this is not much faster than Erlang. Also the graphs only cover 12 cores, while it claims that "Applications can run on a virtually infinite processor count and on arbitrarily large clusters". I would

What if we're using a different compiler, then? The comment that I was replying to sounds like CMake or something has more magic thus power for a future unknown compiler.

Please, use Dialyzer for Erlang. BTW, I don't know Go, but Erlang has per-process GC, so there won't be a large heap to scan.

If more people knew how to write compilers, is it likely that programming languages will be better?

Inaccurately, programming language = syntax + semantics. Do not waste your time on syntax, if you are going to create a new language, rather than a parser. I'm not saying that syntax is not important. But I feel semantics deserves muc

That's probably due to the lack of resources (as I mentioned, libraries, tutorials, etc.) for programming server-side webapps in C++. However, this could be a chicken and egg problem. People use Java more often so they produce more re

If server-side (web)apps were written in C++ instead of Ruby/Python/..., I believe they can sustain much more users before they need to consider horizontal scalability seriously, since we can fully utilize the machine in C++. AFA
