A team at Imperial is working on KLEE[ http://klee.github.io/ ], using symbolic execution to find bugs, with some nice results. It would be great to compare the two techniques on the same software and see the trade-off betwee

Agreed. Rarely argued I think this is a very valid view. Additionally, some languages which have true parallelism are converging to the same model (say non-blocking IO ala Node), built on top of their crude parallelism primitives.

It's not so much anecdotal as circumstantial. If everyone was taking the loan, you probably would too. It is the same in England, were students took loans for 3,5k pounds a year and now even 9k a year. Now I am not saying that the Brit

I much prefer Metro to Material, but following either would lead to better experience at least for me. That said, design "once" didn't really work with Windows and it's gonna be interesting watching Google try the same.

I don't think so. 2048 and Flappy Bird are based on a mechanic including random gameplay. This game is full of content (design of levels and text between them). Sure, someone can clone it, but it will take them slightly longer and it w

You cannot align things on different lines with soft tabs. If you really need to change the indentation, you could always do it based on spaces (not that I have seen any editors capable of doing it) - again, you will mess up the alignment.

There are two problems with React which I see at the moment: 1) Layouting 2) (more to the point of this article) what if your app isn't composed as a tree? More specifically, what if I have two tightly coupled components in two differe

I beg to differ! These editors are extremely popular because of lack of better alternatives and because of the great conservatism (it doesn't matter that there might be something better, I have already mastered this one tool). I give y

Going from CoffeeScript to Python (bundled together with going from Node.js to Python) is painful. So many things that CoffeeScript has learned over Python - of all of them, "everything is an expression" rule.

I think you have a great point about automation, but you're confusing high-skilled jobs with jobs which are not manually-challenging. Repetitive jobs will be automated first (bank clerks), then manual repetitive jobs (fast food workers
