I kinda ran out of steam building my own calculator, which is here: https://recomputer.io/ . I haven't seen insect before, and it looks great! Especially given the landscape which I documented in the github readme: ht

SpaceX is trying (and already succeeding) to massively innovate spaceships. The only question is whether it will become really useful or not.

Perhaps I’m too young, but I don’t find most of my writing relevant years later. Amusing maybe. So I don’t worry too much about the current platform I’m using being obsolete. I do want the ability to back up to plaintext with a single click

Interesting take, but I find it much more insightful to think about how you’d simply implement a hook (not any of the React specific ones). MobX uses similar mechanism. user declares foo with a call to “useState” function useState(…) {

I doubt it. Even fully “neutral” Ukraine, if modern, democratic, prosperous, would have been extremely dangerous to any corrupt autocrat in Russia. This is appeasement approach that WWII should have taught us not to take. Russian official a

I think we could use at least three languages as a set: - Rust - RustGC - RustScript I elaborated here: https://gist.github.com/xixixao/8e363dbd3663b6729cd5b6d74dbb...

Once you realize that the Hobbit movies are either “orange” or “blue” all.the.time. they become unwatchable. I hope some future rerelease fixes them.

If you read to the end the author links to their second article suggesting Kanban instead. I concur with this suggestion in general. This talk is an entertaining classic intro into it: https://youtu.be/CKWvmiY7f_g

I’ve had this idea for about 10 years - it really pays off to wait and eventually someone will build all my ideas :) There are many things to build on top: - Squash history so that it doesn’t grow indefinitely. - Be somewhat language aware

This is what source control blame is for. It’s very hard to estimate what business reasons will be important to readers of code in the future. I very often nudge people to remove their comments entirely. Less experienced devs often write co

No, I think he means Typescript. Typescript doesn’t have (or even tries to have) a sound type system. It’s good to know its limitations and try to avoid code that will blow up despite passing type checking.
