Why not grow the maintainers group to multiple people? A trusted group of people that share the vision of the project. This way the project becomes a living thing that doesn’t depend on the goodwill of a single person. And that single perso

WAF’s intention is to catch common attacks. I was also skeptical about it until I saw Azure application gateway WAF’s default policies to fend off log4j attacks. My take is now to configure WAF at a generic level with minimal impact on appl

I have been using syncthing for at least 3 years now. Sync’ing a 7gb directory across 6 devices. I rarely get conflicts, when it happens i just click on the conflicts link via the browser and check which files are conflicting and try to res

I’m also interested. We are currently using the managed pg server where we create multiple databases inside. The managed pg database does not support private endpoint if i recall and it gets pretty expensive. Also single managed server does

I sometimes think MS product owners are on coke all the time or something. Last week or so i was in the middle of a conference call and MS teams just decided to restart itself with a new update.

This is an interesting approach. I also dislike the current architecture they are pushing. Actions can break any time. Makes pipelines/actions very fragile and as you pointed not portable either. The portability could be fixed by havin

It does feel that way. I missed the section on self reflection. Now the article sounds like he’s blaming the world/employer for his dissatisfaction.

If Synology doesn’t resolve this PR drama soon, affected customers should indeed try the legal route. Not sure if Synology has their ass covered via terms of service. Even if they did, it’s their fault people lost access to their data. Inte

It depends. If you are doing a side project next to your regular employment, i would avoid creating any legal entity unless strictly necessary. Why? You add legal obligations to yourself. When you are starting up as solo-entrepreneur, try t

I’m curious why the author didn’t take this to court? Perhaps it can evolve into a class action lawsuit. That would teach FB and other FAANGs.
