I've known him personally, it was clear he'd end up like his hero Gordon Gekko since high school. The saddest part is that he didn't need to, hopefully since he's still young he can redeem him self.

The USPS is basically a spam service as it's core business model, somehow that's acceptable, so having an employee steal isn't that surprising.

This is fair to a degree, but vendors have VIPs that make failures fairly transparent. But if you need low latency on a large data set is there something better? Where low latency means <100ma reads

There are no more than in past decades, and if it really was the case then you'd take a stay calm and approach vs trying to panic an entire country.

If it cuts down on crazy conspiracy theories and fear mongering, that would be good. Political maneuvering and pivots are one thing, but dredging up UFO type conspiracy theories is really dangerous.

Out of curiosity what type of companies see on prem being more secure still? Do they really have top noch security teams or is the reality akin to stuffing money under your mattress to keep it safe vs a bank?

Are you able to talk about the changes you had to make to the login service? Would be interested in knowing what the scaling issues were.

We have seamless DNS "failover" by running dnsmasq with the all-hosts option on all our servers. It causes dnsmasq to query all at once so if any go down its transparent to our apps. Works perfectly on our 1500 ec2 instances.
