What's interesting is that this may be how Tesla Model 3 will look like. It's supposed to not have any physical controls on the dashboard, just one big screen.

What's interesting is that Jeff Dean noted that ReLU was one of the big things why deep learning took off. Wikipedia summarizes tha advantages, but my guess is getting rid of the vanishing gradients problem: https://en.m.wik

The important thing is on the ,,vocal'' part. For a lot of us Bitcoin is working wonderfully, and we trust and respect the current leadership of Bitcoin Core a lot. Still, we have other things to do in our lives, so don't hav

Wow, this means that Snapchat's valuation went down a lot just because of this one case.

Getting a girlfriend who also works at home may be hard, but it can fix most of this problem. I liked working while my girlfriend was working at the same time...with some fun interruptions.

This is not a problem of people who decide on the laws, as they are the owners. So in their pont of view it's the opposite that should happen.

That money is nothing. It's not just about the lost hours, I believe just because of the lunch breaks Apple would have had to hire and train more people

All Google VPs are in MTV, it's not a secret inside Google that it's easier to get promoted there. Still, I'm perfectly happy in working at a satellite office.

Shouldn't it be using cryptographic proofs for voting? Ring signatures are good for it for example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_signature#cite_note-FS07-...

Having a composable base is good, but as a high level interface I still prefer the ,,primitive'' syntax.

The start of the comment is really out of context here. What he wrote about the team case (what most of us are payed for) is this: When coding on a team, I modify my strategy to carefully test code that we, collectively, tend to get wrong.

Still, without a high and good test coverage that makes sure that the drivers don't break when the core is changed, it's not worth to do refactoring just to make the code cleaner. Still, it's amazing how much extra functiona

What other education a kid needs than to have parents who can stay with them all day and teach how to work from anywhere in the world? I think the more important thing is how does the kid socialize?

I bought Bitcoins when I read this at HN by pg in March of 2013 (BTC was about $70): I am very intrigued by Bitcoin. It has all the signs. Paradigm shift, hackers love it, yet it's derided as a toy. Just like microcompu

We have enough good enough currencies, but the world was missing a good store of value. Gold is too hard to store/buy/sell reliably (and with small margin). It will be a better currency after it's accepted as a store of value

Every time somebody buys/sells bitcoins she just makes exchanges and algo traders richer. Bitcoin is awesome as a store of value...for everything else, there's Mastercard.
