A lot of the problems John mentioned (camera jpeg, latency, real time decisions) have been worked on by comma.ai for many years. He could have just used their stack and build on it the general learning parts that comma is not focusing on.

I haven't read too much from others, but personally for me Codex online form was the biggest productivity boost in coding since the original Copilot. Cursor just deleted my unit tests too many times in agent mode. Codex 5x-ed my output

I have an idea: just write ,,Send'' on the send button and people will find it even faster and easier... also make the button rectangular and add a drop shadow. Welcome to 1995. Also, 70+ year old people who have the hardest time

It's super effective funding. There are known DNA changes that would probably help all people with chronic diseases, but it's ethically more accepted to go for the more fatal diseases and cleaner cases first, like a rare mutation

I think the most important lesson is this: Ownership is easy, borrowing is easy, what makes the language super hard to learn is that functions must have signatures and uses that together prove that references don't outlive the object.

Regarding defense while US is still ahead, DJI in itself is already far superior in manufacturing small drones, it's just that they are used in both sides of the wars, that's why there was not much focus on them so far.

Sure, as they say in Google, for technologies you always have two options: the new which is experimental and not yet supported and the old that is depreciated because there will be a new coming anyways.

AI is the most competitive and healthy large industry I have seen. Having a search index helps just like having tweets for x.ai, but data isn’t the deciding factor.

Congrats for reaching 1.0! Nice little library, but as it's signals based, it would be nice to make it compatible with the signals proposal ( https://github.com/tc39/proposal-signals ) At the same time for me, while

Wow, mod_plsql looks really cool, I didn't know about it. From the replies I think it mainly went out of favour because of lack of reactivity. I could port PageQL to C/Postgresl/Mysql, but I don't think it would be suffi

Thanks for the comment. I also thought the same, so I don't blame people for thinking it's a terrible idea. What's really exciting is that it gives reactivity, reloading, declarative state and a lot of optimizations almost fo

I guess it's a hard choice as it's 5x more energy efficient than GPU because it uses systolic array. For laptops, 2x GPU cores would make more sense, for phones/tablets, energy efficiency is everything.

Probably you are right. Early adopters prefer not to be bullshitted generally, just like how Google in the early days optimized relevancy in search results as opposed to popularity. As more people adopted Google, it became more popularity

The main inhibitor of browsers advancing was not lack of funding, but lack of will. It would be relatively straightforward to make web browsers competitive with Java/Swift mobile apps, but 2 specific companies would lose a lot of money
