As a Fortran user, it's pretty awful for string handling. It's fine for numerics. However, there's a lack of libraries for non-numeric stuff (e.g. data structures). The free compilers are buggy, too.

The PWM frequency is typically much higher for LCDs than OLEDs, if it is used, and much less likely to be a problem.

A better example is HMRC, the tax authority, in the UK. They won't tell you if your tax avoidance scheme is legal or not, but they will fine you or take you to court if they later decide it is not.

Wasn't this rule made up by someone in the 18th century because he thought it sounded better [1]? Therefore, it's not even more correct to say fewer rather than less. The only reason to care about it is to stop people trying to co

I've encountered multiple compiler bugs in gfortran. The code wasn't very complex either - just a set of nested data structures.

It certainly was much colder at my public sector employer in Germany. My hands turned blue in my office and I had to wear fingerless gloves some of the time.

This byte reordering trick has also been done elsewhere. For example, the HDF5 file format supports a "shuffle" filter which reorders the bytes.

A nice journey back to starting programming for me. On my PCW Amstrad computer, I wanted something a bit faster than the Mallard BASIC and Logo that came with it. I tried some Pascal compiler that only compiled to slow interpreted P-code.
