You might want to investigate having a mode where you can see some of the figures from each paper. This works very well for astronomical arxiv papers: http://arxiver.moonhats.com/

How common is the Linux segfault problem on Ryzen now? Just reading about the horrible RMA procedure puts me off AMD unless they can clean up their terrible handling of this problem.

The article doesn't seem to make clear that the 04 firmware which fixes this has been out for years (mid 2014, specifically). One nice thing about this device is that it is a real Linux system which can be used for hosting cheap servic

There have been many comment layering systems for arxiv, none of which seem to have taken off. Also, users are pretty split on whether they want this: http://www.nature.com/news/arxiv-preprint-server-plans-multi... . P

tsocks [1] is also interesting. It lets you run a program forwarding all its network data through a SOCKS proxy. It's very useful if you want to VPN a single application over a SSH connection. [1] http://tsocks.sourceforge.n

Have you been following the series on accounting in LWN? https://lwn.net/Articles/735334/ Also, is Gtk the best choice for cross-platform development? I'd seriously also consider Qt.

A SOCKS5 tunnel supports DNS. This is good for web browsing and is natively supported by ssh. You can even use it for individual programs using the tsocks command line wrapper.

I've always thought ctypes a bit of a hack as you get crashes and so on if you're not constantly careful about updating function definitions. It would be much nicer if the compiler could catch the errors, e.g. #include "
