Honestly, once you know either pinyin or zhuyin, learning the other is trivial. It took under a day for me to get it 95% down and then with some regular usage it was done. But one effect was I found I had a much easier time keeping sounds s

Hmm... I think you're over-emphasizing the people skills. Possibly the best front-end dev I've ever met was clearly on the aspergers spectrum. He wasn't good with people at all, but he was obscenely productive and probably th

No, that's not true. The history section of the wikipedia entry on rails says: "Hansson first released Rails as open source in July 2004, but did not share commit rights to the project until February 2005." [1] The very seco

I have learned pinyin and zhuyin both, but found zhuyin to be the "superior" system. In pinyin the two vowel sounds ㄜ and ㄝ are written as "e", and both ㄨ(sometimes) and ㄩ are written as "u". Furthermore, typin

If the most toxic NCAA basketball player shot 3s like Stephen Curry, how much backlash would there be if the NCAA removed the three point line for a season and returned to just 2 points per hoop like in the 70s?

Microsoft has an extraordinary amount of in-house talent when it comes to IDEs and performance, and it shows in VSCode. The difference in responsiveness between the two editors is stark and it's a primary reason I never use Atom anym

You can call it hubris, but my goal is truth. I don't have any financial or even emotional stake in WP and am just trying to make the best predictions I can. In my experience, you don't hone those skills unless you actually have t

What is your experience with predictions, exactly? I feel confident that WordPress will be more widely used than Medium next year, in three years and in nine years (which is an eternity in tech). Would you bet against that? I don't mea

Medium will never overtake WordPress. Medium has a lot of buzz, a great founder and a powerful centralized system. It felt like an upgrade to the web. WordPress on the other hand, is a force of nature. Not only does it have a strong team

Aside from the fact that education has second order effects that powerfully benefit humanity as whole, good will is a boon for companies. The cost of running hangouts (which is essentially P2P) is a rounding error for Google. Why shut down
