I wouldn't call that "incredibly expensive". Certainly for what it does, there are many other software packages that cost more.

This really is a good article. My only issue is that it pretends that the only competition is between Cloudflare and AWS. There are several other low rent storage providers that offer an S3 compatible API. It's also worth looking at Ba

New? The churches created many of the oldest universities and many of them had a job of training future preachers. It's not a new idea.

Yup. They deliberately overload the front of the pipeline. It can attract smart people from overseas and also save plenty of money. They usually openly argue that the university's job is training for the rest of the economy so it only

I think traditionally it was for people who were unmarried. Hence its connection to the church. So expecting enough to raise a family is a relatively new idea.

> Why is NPR being so blatantly partisan that even non-Americans can immediately smell it? It's sad how the news media has turned into a bunch of rapid, foolish dogs that run in packs.

Venture driven tech is crazy and wasteful, but it's nothing compared to government. How many electric car chargers did the Biden administration build with billions of dollars? A handful. Look at another post today about the fact that B

My thoughts exactly. I haven't really tried many of the HN monthly postings myself very often, but once in a while I see something irresistible. But they never respond. Or they have an auto responder which doesn't count in my book

I have no real desire to work through all of this again. It was 4 years ago. Alas, all of your numbers aren't so convincing to me. As we saw with this last go around, you could find numbers from pollsters that predicted either outcome.

I believe that many of the court battles revolved around issues like "standing", not whether there was any substance to the matter. So it's not really fair to put any value in whether the accusations were "proven in cour

I believe most of the accusations about 2020 were centered in places where the Democrats were in power like Philadelphia and its suburbs. Control of the WH is immaterial because all voting is controlled by the states or local municipalities

Seems like a good one to me. I suppose there are more blatant forms of waste and raw corruption, but the entropy kind seems like one of the most important for a society to tackle.
