AlphaGo took many AI researchers by surprise. An even bigger surprise came next year, with AlphaZero: "AlphaZero was a reinforcement learning system that was able to master three different perfect information games - chess, shogi (Japa

Is Apple really failing? $30B net profit per quarter. Who knows what they are researching behind the scenes. They can afford to hire any top AI researchers. Siri is optimized for cost and performance on small devices. Works very well consid

No difference to me. It's an OS update. My policy is to wait before installing any OS update on my work Mac, whether its major or minor. Just wait at least a month. So far I have avoided all of these bullshit issues over several years

What's the difference? Wait a month (or whatever) before upgrading to the next major or minor release. My work laptop is stuck on 14.3 for a few weeks until they fix this issue. So what? Actual security risk is practically zero. Wherea

Sounds like your Mac is broken. Hardware fault. I've been using multiple Macs daily with a third party 4k display, Docker, and stable network connection for years. No issues with any of that. Never needs rebooting aside from installing

That's not the issue. LLMs are not trained on whatever crap you can scrape from users text messages or emails. That is relatively useless for training.

What do you mean? The entire model and architecture and executables are fully open source. The training methods are nothing secret, right? The architecture is well known. Expecting the entire training dataset to be fully open is delusional.

This is not some crappy DVD rip on The Pirate Bay. It will be seeded as long as its relevant. Twitter/X has their own massive infrastructure and bandwidth to seed this indefinitely.

When a kernel update breaks all JVM versions starting from Java 8, the kernel devs fucked up. Even worse when the breaking change is in the final production release only and not the beta release. Completely obvious that this is a bug. Segme

When kernel developers violate POSIX standards and break the JVM (and other applications not yet reported), it's a bug. Can't justify it or make excuses. Apple really fucked up here. Linus Torvalds has a policy: "WE DO NOT BR

Some people just prefer MacOS over Windows. By the time they shut down activation servers the hardware will be so worn out and obsolete no one will care. Also you can run Linux on Mac.
