This has bigger and impact on startup ecosystem worldwide than say a new framework etc but no one is discussing this. I wonder if people gave up on the idea that tech can help make informed decisions ? It looks like people voted off their e

I think these are noble but naive approaches - we have been developing software for a few decades now and sometimes the software is not compatible without the developer knowing it. You should be able to use whichever version of the software

Since you’re looking for feedback- on mobile I wasn’t able to tap on individual screens and without zoom they were too tiny to read.

Brutalist buildings are also way more practical than say Victorian ones. Same goes for this car - it won’t win the beauty contest but should hopefully be a lot more practical for those living in rural areas

The pricing to me seems horribly expensive especially as they are fighting a competitor that is ‘free’ and has way better network effects?

I love Python syntax, but I still haven't found a sufficiently popular way that can deploy my code in the same set of setting s as my dev box (other than literally shipping a VM). So setting up a dev env is one problem, but deploying i

Looks like a lot of discussion here is about housing, but the CR report suggests that most of the issues are with the infotainment systems in cars. And that includes Tesla. I assume that the ecosystem is big enough to create a 3rd player

Can someone point me to a similar MFA solution where I use my phone biometrics as the factor instead of yubikey? I have the Authenticator apps but it’d be nice if the phone and computer could exchange those numbers for me.

you could maybe sniff OTP over it but to time it with an attack, you’d still need quite a few other things. I wouldn’t get a wireless yubikey personally but I can see how some might prefer the convenience over security

The direct question was, can I pay someone to monitor my AWS. And the answer is yes. You want redundancy at every layer including the human one. For 24x7 coverage, long term you need a team but for now two people will do. Funny enough I wa

What am I missing, what’s the point? Companies can still aggregate data about you by combining data from those separate cookies?

I happen to live in an area where roads have been slightly overbuilt and there’s plenty of roads and hardly any traffic on them. I’d say the existing infrastructure is perfect for bicycles we just need to get rid of the cars.

I really like that argument and I feel when interviewing I am in that position often, but if you leave money on the table and leave have you ‘won’ the negotiation? Potentially there are greener pastures out there but that’s hypothetical.

That doesn’t make sense a lot of what AWS provides is services such as cloud front at scale. You’d still need to test at scale so infrastructure and experience at scale is part of what makes AWS successful and profitable

How many MacBook Pros do you get though. If anything, what the software developers might want is likely more expensive in Malaysia than Portugal. Likewise for India.

Basically police are too lazy to do police work ie get warrants and wiretaps at individual homes. They want a fishing net so they can catch these people by the thousands.

As general rules these sound great at first sight, but don’t really address the main culprit from TFA - like for like API Gateway costs a lot more to process n number of requests.
