Well. 1. You severely undervalue yourself. 2. You are abused at work: overworked and underpaid. 3. Rock-star programmers and ninjas are bullshit "titles" meant to shine some lights on successful introverts to attract some other in

As a manager, I’d just think you’re being provocative and short-sighted. As an IC, I’d think you’re big-mouthed, in a bad way. In any case, even if you were right, I’d be the kind of colleague you’d have to work your way up to retrieve trus

I will always remember my discovery of Paul Erdös at my university. The lecturer was a true admirer and passed the n their passion to the class. Every mention of him is now a fond memory of these times. So thanks for yet another memory trig

Helping teenagers and adults alike to read an explicit mention of image manipulation can certainly remove some self-criticism that many Instagram consumers impose to themselves.

You could have started on a consensual definition of "unfiltered photography" with OP and share some valid ideas to fuel the conversation instead.

I use Nest as my TS backend framework of choice. It just works great, covers just every use case I throw at it (business apps or side projects), has the right balance of versatility and openness, and doesn't try to do more than backend

I am very happy to see more people realise that "everyone can achieve greatness" is incomplete and thus wrong. The sentence ends with "...but not everyone is born equal and some will even meet insurmountable barriers". T

FWIW, I'm not objecting HN or forums are not social media. Rather that nowadays, social media have more mechanics that are typical: * presence of brands * influencers * algorithmic bubble filters * attention hoarding Of course, forums

I was expecting this comment, tbh :) This is true to some extent. Yet the scale and mechanics of HN are (vastly?) different from your typical social media. Also, brands are mostly absent, except for the YC specific posts. In my opinion, HN
