I think you might need some large font that says "We're not ready QUITE YET, but we'll contact you when we are... <email box>". I thought I was signing up for the site, as it currently stands.

Yeah, there's no site there. I was fooling around with the CSS trying to get rid of the pesky modal views (sometimes it works), when I got to the page... which was just an image http://launchsky.com/img/bg-app.png . It's a good simulation

Really? That's exactly what I got out of the article as well. They have to pay for the bandwidth somehow.

Wow, really unnecessarily harsh people in here. Maybe someone should start a community for people who are interested in start-ups and tech projects so these people aren't burdened by posts like this.. oh wait.

Personally I love Bitbucket. Unfortunately you'll get scoffed at by the "true nerds" for using such a second rate product (aka less trendy). Their new UI is really awesome and you really can't beat the price (free).

But good luck getting them out of there if they ever need it. It's such a bitch (just finished moving my friends cooking blog off there to a dedicated host). Also, even if you pay for their best plans they don't allow you to put ads on your

How has your life changed over the past year? In reading some of your comments and replies, you seem kind of defensive. I know it's kind of natural when you're getting picked apart by your peers, especially in this environment (a generally

Agreed, but regardless of who's at fault with the lack of communication you still won't WANT to work with them. The concept being that you should want to do your work and be happy, so fix your communication problems regardless of who's faul

When does a startup stop being a startup? 60 employees and $750,000 per day seems to me like just a normal successful company.

Honestly, it shows in a few places. I think you have a hell of a product. It might be worth it to pay someone $50 to proof read it. (or even a fellow HN'er who will do it for a pro account)

I have a CS degree but I'm still working at the company I interned for (been here for 5 years). I could have stopped two years into my degree and still be in the same position regarding money and position, but I felt that would be painting

Hmm, I'm kind of interested. Your UI layout looks great. I might play with it at home a bit tonight to see what I can come up with. For future reference, here are some helpful things: http://www.hnsearch.com/api http://hndroidapi.appspot

Well, you're simply incorrect. I mean, we can agree what a perfect programmer is. But comparing the qualities of two imperfect programmers is absolutely situational, just like any skill. Who's the better athlete, Michael Jordan or Michael P

I don't know what these people are talking about... Call me crazy but when I saw that I had to pay for this at all I thought "Hmm, couldn't I implement that quickly myself?". Perhaps I could or couldn't, but it seems to me that it would be

Most recruiters don't want to help you. Helping you is just a by product of helping themselves. I had one that demanded a text document resume (instead of a PDF). A few days later he sends it back padded with a bunch of nonsense (including

It's not just a phone. It's a $600 device. If you bought a new car and the dealer said "We went ahead and let the girl scouts down the street wash it with their stone infested rags", you wouldn't be pleased either. When he said the dude rem

My first impressions: Provide people a way of creating the flash cards online. Let them use a simple editor or type html directly. Make sure they can do it quickly. Have the app connect to your web service and pull down the card groups and

I use a mocha pot. You can get them for like $15 or so, makes really great espresso (its a high pressure kind of clever system). Use espresso beans with a pretty fine grind. I love the concept behind it and it yields great espresso without
