My take was that Metro was flat to leverage finally-computationally-and-energy efficient scaling hardware. All design elements were simple primitives with overlaid text, with limited texturing.it was a design of the hardware of the time.

The sad part is how most people will accept catastrophic device failure as a fact of life of their social standing, and feel like they have no recourse in being sold a dangerous product.

A shoe-fitting fluoroscope! I’m only half-joking, but one using terahertz radiation would be very handy to have while shoe-shopping with children. Kids can’t reliably tell you the fit of their shoes, and some footwear doesn’t yield to th

A long time ago, I had a chat with a nurse executive who rose up the ranks. Her advice was to stick to a position until the butterflies settle (or approximately q 5 years). Nursing is known for lifers on single units, and personal growth do

You mention rapid debulking following an infusion. That must have been a surreal experience. Congratulations! How does the treatment you received compare to the current standard of care? Would current therapies also result in rapid debulkin

It seemed especially badass when the model number was the CRW-F1, released in 2002. It was also cool because the activity would blink purple (orange + blue) during writing. This set it apart when blue LEDs were all the rage.

You’re talking about EMU/DMUs versus locomotives. Higher-speed travel is less efficient with an MU than with a locomotive-pulled train. Higher-speed is important when North America is so large. See also: https://thebeaverton

Apple used to have to roll-their-own to hedge their bets. For example, Safari and iWork came about when there was a possibility that Microsoft would pull support for IE and Office for Mac. Now it’s done for momentum.
