The samsung s22+ kind-of has these features, I'm not sure if its purely a customization for them? On the lock screen, the camera app is by default there, you can just swipe up, and if the last mode was video, then it's video again

Dealing with databases and data scanning into custom structs, you would be writing lots Scanner/Valuer custom functions which use interface{} If you are the lucky ones not dealing with databases, I sort-of envy you...!

First thing I did in VScode was install/activate Vim mode. So if VScode does go the way of Windows, then I'll "just" go back to another editor with vi bindings. (yes yes, I remember some of my emacs bindings, wrote a the

As a former MtG player I think the difficulty lies not in creating cards, but in ensuring there's a level of balance between existing cards and new sets.

I think you have the wrong idea about how pedestrians cross streets in vietnam. You cross, maintain a straight line and a constant speed, and the vehicles play frogger around you. Not the other way round. (only slightly joking here...)

I was about to give some feedback and quote my favourite author Jorge Luis Borges, but then I realised Martin has already done something similar: George Box neatly quipped: "all models are wrong, some are useful". Thus Team To

Thanks for the rabbit hole! It's hilarious how extensive a prop can be re-used (last starfighter, STNG, The Flash etc)

this reminds me of the perlrefs I used to download and printout; despite having years of perl coding, I'd often forget which combinations of @#$%^&* (ok I'm just randomly typing now!) I'd have to use.

I'm perfectly fine with using laptops as edge servers in remote areas (Oh did you say Canada?). The thinkpad W series were workhorses, you could get 32GB of RAM and they had built in UPSs. Not that confident about Macbook Airs though

I thoroughly enjoyed FTL and Into the Breach. Another I thoroughly enjoyed was Jupiter Hell, which seems to be a fast paced game, but is actually a very thought provoking, turn based game.

I made the mistake of getting a samsung s22+, thinking the battery life would be better than the s22 (yes it is), but it just doesn't fit well in my front pocket (and I don't like having it in my back pocket). So I'm hoping

The obvious weakness are the wheels. Conventional infantry are already trained to hit armored vehicles in the wheels/drivetrain to remove their mobility. Hitting a wheel for this robot accomplishes the same for driving and flying (si

There's a lot of fintech co-opting the term operating system now, e.g. someone tell me what a "Guild Operating System" is. Nope, it's not an OS in the traditional sense, it's just some PAAS or SAAS type offering.

As usual there's a time and place. What I've found is that devs tend to be able to write "OKish" SQLs, but fall over when trying to optimize them, so the DB side can then take over and write optimized stored procs, which
