I don't disagree that it's used outside of defense. It's just used very very commonly in defense. Just harmless speculation ;).

Fantastic post. I'd also recommend any "programmers" to invest a couple years in a systems integration engineering role as well. It's generally a great place for picking up some skills many programmers / engineers lack: * Communicating wi

I see a lot of posts disagreeing with the OP in one form or another and I think I know why. It takes a bit of OCD and a dash of perfectionism to emphasize with the OP. Unfortunately, I know exactly how the OP feels.

It's a shame OP had to learn the hard way given that he stated he was not going to buy into resume hype and ended up doing so anyways albeit in a less formal fashion. While stories like this would any employer cringe, the very opposite scen

The great thing about opinions is that..... Anyhow, games are merely products. They have a target audience and are generally designed to appeal to that segment. For many, being immersed in a virtual [believable] world, holds high value wh

Let me preface this by stating that much I'm about to post, I've learned from my 18 month old boy. Aside from the sentimentality of a parent watching his kid develop physical and mental abilities, it's a very interesting phenomenon watching

Just a note, if you have the sync turned on and own an android phone, it'll automatically grab the apps. This can be viewed as a pro or a con depending on the apps. There's also an issue with the usb mounting when copying over large chunks

It honestly wouldn't be so bad if the message wasn't neck deep in hypocrisy. Stop thinking about yourself (1%) and start thinking about us (99%). Yes, much less selfishness there... I was actually frequenting the taste of DC with my wife

VCs look at people not ideas for a reason. I think joining a startup as an employee should be the same exact process. Do you believe in the executive team to put your needs at the same level as theirs? If not, then you may want to recons

I agree to a point. For one, I would not group Finnish and Chinese together. Now, I can't speak much for Finnish, but I am positive a statistical approach to Chinese provides very poor results. However, with that said, I do agree that do

Actually come to think of it, I bet IBM's G2 system would work amazingly well with translation.

Google still has a very long way doing an adequate translation between a language such as Chinese and English. I'd be surprised if Google was taking such a pedestrian approach in solving that particular problem. As it stands, languages suc
