You'd need to know what both languages are to know what it does, and with that knowledge you can just call it a compiler.

Second. Squashing and amending commits is equivalent to the workflow described in the article.

An easy fix is to have the mentee drive.

Yes, a compiler. The fact there's a note in Wikipedia doesn't change my view.

One thing Phabricator did/does worse than GitHub is the interface for browsing the individual commits that make up a PR. I like being able to tell a story with the sequence of commits and their messages.

That's a compiler. I don't understand the desire to create a new word when the old one is fine.

I wrote code that worked with both interpreters simultaneously for many years. I don't know why you'd worry so much.

There are some new competitors for Cython. The article mentions Numba, which I've been pleased with, and mypyc, which I haven't tried yet.

That's a theme, for sure. "We don't have enough time to refactor!" is generally less true than "We need to slow down to go faster."

I think part of the problem is that many people who are used to static type analysis get lazy with naming and interface design. Toss one of them into your team and they'll "prove" the need for static type analysis.

Isn't that what Python is? Except C and not C++.

I suspect there's some algorithmic choice hidden in a library in this comparison, where the Python library has the right choice for the job and the Java library has the wrong one.

How do you know when you've had 7/10ths of "the information"? There's a great deal of scientific literature about this topic, BTW. Especially in machine learning.

Both NumPy and Django were created in 2005, but Numeric, the ancestor of NumPy, is nearly as old as Python itself, and predates SciPy.

USA. I've noticed a few restaurants bumping prices up a buck, but most haven't changed yet. By galloping inflation, I hope that means wage increases. Inflation is neither bad nor good, until it changes people's behavior. E

If we're getting all theoretical: On the other hand, your money and property wouldn't exist if the government didn't declare it so. Was it ever really yours?

CPI doesn't include the stock market, either. Real estate is an asset. Rent is included, however. They estimate how much a home owner is effectively paying in rent.

I was on my way to an important meeting and Google Maps had an outage. I panicked, and it took me a good 5 minutes to realize there were other map products that I could use to get directions.

AirBnB did. I forget the exact terms, but a while back someone's house got trashed and it hit the news. AirBnB announced they'd cover the damage to her house and started an insurance policy.
